May 19, 2019 – Thoughts by Rev Kev

In today’s reading the apostle John speaks of a new heaven, a new earth and a new Jerusalem. He calls us to bring the pain of our present moment and to surrender it at the foot of the cross, not once, but every day. Faith involves believing that God can take all that is broken and make everything new. When the cross is our center, we open ourselves to the power that can turn sorrow into joy and even death into new life.
Pondering the question what needs to be made new in our Mid Mon Valley Parish? We want more people to be actively involved in each building and in the various ministries, that is why we have two Lectors at each Mass. Our hope is to involve the youth to read the second reading next year. Our song is Alleluia and that is why we should rejoice in singing the Alleluia before and after the Gospel has been pro-claimed! Finally, my new thought and wish is to fulfill this one GOAL in our journey to create one unified Parish.

Please join us as we focus on prayer participation at Liturgies so that we can all carry our Crosses with assistance of one another!
